NOTABLE FRENCH TRIUMPH NEW YORK X Y May 25 Mr Widener was happy over the receipt of word from France that his threeyearold colt Feu Follet by Rabelais Fire Play by Mieddler had won the 100000 franc stake Le Grando Prix dti Printemps at St Cloud The dis ¬ tance of the contest is a mile and fiveeighths and as the same Feu Follet had already won a substantial prize at Iongchamps it looks as if the president of the Westchester Racing Association has a fine prospect of winning others of the French classics later in the year Fire Play dam of Feu Follet is from Strike a Light by Donovan and is therefore a sister to the horse Allumeur bred in France l y Clarence Mackay and brought to this country to sire Sallys Alley at Binghamton for W S Kilmer Fred Hoey who looks after the French raring interests of Mr Widener has maintained that Feu Follet would make good The colt was sired by Rabelais when lie was twentythree years of age Rabelais today at twentysix is as full of fire as any of the younger horses in France He is about the last son of St Simon that is available for public service and has made a fortune for Count Jean de Nicolay
