Lieutenant II began to weaken and Mr Pepp passed him as did also Token It was a desperate battle between them and Mr Pepps victory was in a measure due to the rousing finish that But well put up upThe The Ross stable made it a double when Hi jo beat a cheap band of maidens in the Ilnwick Plate Like Tattling Hi jo was a shortpriced favorite Claver had the mount The start was a sort of ragged one advantage rushed him away into a two lengths lead Round the far turn Claver made his move with Hijo and the latter went to the pace ¬ maker with a rush and entering the home stretch took the lead Once in front Hijo remained there but at the end he weakened
