ALMOST STEALS THE RACE E. Neal Just Fails to Turn Defeat Into Victory at Finish in Omahas Feature. OMAHA, Neb.. June 15. — The feature race at Ak-Sar-Ben field today produced a stirring contest, in which Barn Dollar and Jueen Catherine were the chief participants. Barn Dollar got the decision, but he was lucky, for jockey E. Neal almost stole the purse in the last ten yards with Queen Catherine. The mare was leading twenty yards out. and Neal waited until Barn Dollar drew up on even terms before making his move. When Taj lor on Barn Dollar stopped riding, Neal started whipping, and the mare pulled into the lead once more. Taylor saw the danger and urged on his mount and just got up in time. The finish was one of the most exciting of the meeting. The ladies of Omaha were out in force, as this was one of the days the management had set aside for their benefit, and they apparently took a keen interest in the racing, as the vicinity of the ladies mutuel machines was crowded at all times. The weather was ideal for the sport, but the track was still slow. Antilles, a well known slow track performer, made good in the opener. She was outrun to the Stretch head, but then moved up to the leaders and outstayed Golden Red la a driving finish. Stamp easily took the second race. Partington, on the winner, allowed Kaiongi and Cleg to race their heads off in front in the early part of the journey and when they tired he called on his mount, which passed them. Stamp could have won by in.un more lengths bad his rider chosen to push him. Heine was much the best in the third race and just toyed with hi- rivals. He held a short lead for the first half and then decided to pull away and he had a six length advantage when the finishing line U
