| FORT ERIE TURF NOTES FORT ERIE, Ont., June 23. G. W. Foreman, represented by the winner Fornovo in the sixth race, claimed Scissors from the Green Briar Stable for ,000. J. J. Russell will ship his horses to Maple Heights at the conclusion of racing here. There are eight members in the Russell string. Thomas Gorman, secretary of the Con-naught I ark Jockey Club, is expected here tomorrow to make arrangements for horsemen that will ship to the Hull course following the meeting here. O. F. Purkart will ship his string direct to Ottawa with the end of racing at this point to rest up for the six weeks campaign which is scheduled with the opening of Connausht Park. Word was received here today of the death of C. J. Brockmiller, who years ago raced a string of horses over the Canadian circuit. The sender reports that the widow of the deceased is in financial straits and in need of assistance. James J. Walsh will have charge of the muluels pavilion at the forthcoming meeting at Xiagara Falls. Magistrate John F. Duggan of Philadelphia arrived here for a few days, remaining as the gnest of Al Davis. Matty Mahoney, who will have charge of the wagering at Windsor, was a Ixhited arrival.
