MAJOE, was good enough to graduate from the non-winners ranks m her last start arid, if she has retained that f rm. should again be returned the winner. There does not seem to bt anything in the race that should bother her to any great extent, and we will l e very much surprised if she meets with defeat. SWKKlOVER won her only race at Tijuana last winter and, since racing here, has annexed a second and a third in three starts. A race back to her last out would most likely earn her the place today. The McDowell racer, SCHOLARSHIP, ran poorly in his last appearance. One of his g . 1 races should find him much closer up at the finish. Vt EL LVI MIER-KE WARD— LADY BRAXTEII. The three-quarters dash to be run as the second on the card should prove a good spot for WBLUnKDBR, which races for E. K. r.ryson. This old son of Broomstick still has many a winning race left in his system and. if his present form counts for anything, should be the one to score here. REWARD I stacks up as the one most likely to give the : Bryson colorbearer the most trouble. She ; won her last out all the way, and in fairly j fast time too. She picks up considerable weight, however, and this is apt to stop I her. LADY KRAXTED has finally hit her j best form, as evidenced by her last out, I which was a win. If she races as well today, she is apt to cause the others some-worry. She looks like a cinch for the show, however. RE AP— FRENCH LADY— EMANCIPATION, j The mile and seventy yards of the third j should find REAP a repeater. This little I fellow finally managed to win. after being ! close up in most of his other races. As-1 suming that he is in his best condition at I the present, it is only natural that he shoukl I be tabbed to score again. FRENCH LADY came near winning her last out. She was the leader until well into the stretch but found the rush of Dr. T. S. Dabney too much j and lost the decision by a neck. That race ! should have done her a world of good, and j we are expecting her to duplicate that per-formance today. EMANCIPATION has been racing in a manner to suggest that she is going to be returned the winner before long. I The small end of the purse should be hers ! without much trouble. SHASTA NEGRA— ROYAL RALLY— DR. ED KEEPER. SHASTA NEGRA is expected to prove the easiest winner on the program in the Mary- J ville Purse, to be run as the fourth over the five-eighths distance. She was able to graduate in her last start, and the easy ! manner in which she turned in that victory I leads us to believe that she is going to be a hard one to beat from now on. At the end. she was drawing clear by three lengths and could have won farther off had her rider elected. ROYAL RALLY gets the call for the place. He has two wins to his credit here, as well as a place and a show. He doesnt seem to possess- the speed of NEGRA. however. Today will mark the first appearance of DR. ED KEEKER in these parts. He did right well at Tampa earlier in the year and. if he has retained that form, will very likely l e among the money winners at the wind-up. DENIZEN— BLARNEY STONE— JOHN S. MOSBY. The Bdwardsville Purse, over the mile route, affords a good chance for speculation on DENIZEN, from the stable of P.. Gentry. He has failed to win a purse at this meeting, but the time looks ripe at the present for him to do so. He can be credited with trying in all of his starts and against this lesser company should not have a great deal of trouble in being home first. How BLARNEY STONE will do at this distance remains to be seen. Were the distance a bit longer we would be inclined to give him the edge. He has been rather slow in finding his racing legs, but is reported fit as a fiddle at the present. JOHN S. HOBBY showed quite an improvement over his Aurora form in his first start here. If he runs as kindly today, he should get the show-money. RINDARK— BULLETIN— BELLFONT. Some speedy sprinters are scheduled to hook up in the sixth, known as the Intelligencer Purse. We think RCNDARK will repeat his last race and again prove the winner. He u= in rare form right now and in that condition it would be next to impossible not to give him the call. BULLETIN is also good at the present, but does not seem to be quite as speedy an individual i».s the latter. He has won several races here though and most likely will be the one to fight it out with RCNDARK at the finish. BELLFONT should go well enough to get the show money if she only races back to her last out. DO. T. S. DABNEY— NIMROD — A LARD. In the concluding tilt, DR. T. S. DABNEY looks to be the logical play. He was not quite good enough to win his last race, finishing third to Island Fairy and Coyne. That effort should have put him on edge for todays race and. if he is away in the first flight, think he can turn the trick. NIMROD was entered yesterday and, at this writing, it is not known how he fared. Irregardless. basing on his present form, he ,Tets the call for the place. A LARD raced more like he is capable of in his last out and. if that effort was no fluke, expect him to show the way home to the remainders. One Best Bet — SHASTA NEGRA, in the Fourth Race. i
