REAP showed the most early speed, but could not withstand the rush of the winner. HARPKNDKN, seemingly green in racing, moved into second place with a rush on the back stretch, but bolted on the stretch turn, the* finished gamely. EMANCIPATION tired. RKSONANCK was always far back. SHASTA NKCKA liegan well, but was forced back and had to he ridden hard in the stretch to outstay SHASTA GOLD. The latter raced prominently all the way. ROYAL RALLY was taken back soon after the start and dosed a big gap when ridden hard. CAPT. GEORGE FOSTER began tiring after going t.ie first quaiter.
