AMERICAN AMATEUR ABROAD LONDON, England. April 2.— A. J. Havis, the American amateur rider, is making quite a reputation for himself in this country. Mr. Davis recently purchased Amida II. in France, sending the horse to V. Payne to train, and as he has other animals at the Burgh Heath Stable he evidently intends to extend his patronage. He is a keen man to hounds, and h.-s a dozen hunters eiuartered at Melton Mowbray. Paulinos is the first winner Mr. Oavis has ridden in this country.
