WISE COUNSELLORS RETURN Will Be Bred to Few Mares and Then Put Back in Training for the Summers Racing. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 2.— Among the recent arrivals from Miami was the Everglade establishment of John S. Ward, who came in charge of the outfit. The stable includes Dunmore, a Kentucky Derby candidate, which won three races at the Miami meeting. This son of Dodge and Azurita reached here in rather poor condition and is regarded as a doubtful Derby starter. Shortly after the close of the Miami meeting Dunmore ran into a wire fence that enclosed a paddock in which he was confined and sustained a number of deep cuts. Since then he has not been saddled and he arrived here practically out of training. However, there is nothing seriously the matter with the colt and he will be back in training in a short time and made ready for his stake engagements. The other members of the Everglade Stable included the three-year-olds Dragon. Daffodil, Dodgson and Black Angel and the two-year-olds Dulcet, Dacia. Skipaway, Doxy and Delray. The stable obtained quarters at Douglas Park. Ward stated that he expects to take up Wise Counsellor shortly and have him ready for the summer racing. The horse has been turned out at Howard Blacks farm since he went lame at Miami in the winter of 1925-26. Ward planned to put him in training last fall, but on the advice of Dr. Haggard decided not to do so when the horse exhibited a slight lameness. Wise Counsellor, before being taken up this spring, will be bred to some good mares.
