WHITNEYS TWO-YEAR-OLDS Eleven Young Racers in Trainer Fred Hopkins £tring at the Bowie Track. BOWIE. Md., April 2.— In the string of thoroughbreds which Fred Hopkins is campaigning for Harry Payne Whitney in Maryland this year are eleven two-year-olds. Another is owned by L S. Thompson. These, with the older horses, were prepared for their turf careers at the old Benning course near Washington. They were transferred here last week. Colts outnumber the fillies •two to one, there being eight of the former and four of the latter in Hopkins string. Names for most fo the juveniles have been approved by the registration bureau of Tbe Jockey Club and, as is the Whitney custom, the young horses have been given appropriate appellations. For example, a colt from First Flight is called Migration ; Royal Pennant is by Pennant — Regina, while Skylight is from Transom. The Whitney juveniles and their breeding follow : Sageboys, brown colt by Chicle — Bonnie Broom. Geyser, brown colt by Chicle — Bellefontaine. Migration, bay colt by Johren — First Flight. Sesqui, brown colt by Peter Pan — Pageant Royal Pennant, chestnut colt by Pennant — Regina. Skylight, brown filly by Chicle — Transom. Hush Dear, chestnut filly by Pennant — Baksheesh. Glee, chestnut filly by John P. Grier — Fol-derol. John Peel, brown colt by Johren — Wendy. Bay colt by Dis Done — Rowes Bud. Brown colt by Chicle — Ruth Law. The Thompson-owned juvenile is Turn On, a brown filly by Johren — Tunnin. •
