ONE THOUSAND GUINEAS Major G. Loders Filly, Cresta Run, Proves Easy Winner — Dead Heat for Second. SPECIAL CABLEGRAM LONDON, England, April 29.— Major G. Loder, who won the Epsom Derby with Spion Kop in 1920, at Newmarket today, added the historic One Thousand Guineas to his list of stake victories. His three-year-old filly Cresta Run, a daughter of Hurry On — Bridge Mount, easily defeated twenty-seven others over the Rowley Mile. Cresta Run, carrying 13S pounds and piloted by Balding, showed the way to the finish to Lord Lonsdales Endowment, with jockey Childs up, and Lord Astors Book Law, piloted by Jellis, which ran a dead heat for the placo. Beam, with Weston riding, finished on the flanks of Endowment and Book Law, as did Grand Vitesse, under Donoghue. Cresta Run won by two lengths. She raced to the front at the half mile ground under restraint. With a quarter of a mile to go, she rushed away from her rivals. She proved herself an excellent filly, although she is of rather excitable temperament. Endowment was the favorite at 3 to 1. Cresta Run was 10 to 1. Book Law was held at 13 to 2. The renewal of the filly classic, which was first run in 1814, was witnessed by a large crowd. The weather was fair and the going good.
