At Aurora One Best Bet — POLYCARP — in the First Race. j . J , i , i . i [ I , ; , The Fleetwood Handicap tops the card at Aurora Friday, it being a five and a half furlongs d. sh engaging some of the fastest sprinters quartered here. Such good ones as Sanola, the winner of two handicaps here to date. Jack Alexander, Pigeon Wins 1L, Silver Song, Florence Mills and other top-notchers are entered. If the track is in any kind of condition, a new t: ack record is liable to be hung up as most any one of those entered here are capable of turning the trick, they being a fast band. Another good field is entered for the Sun-quest Purse, to be run as the fifth and under allowance conditions. This is over the three-quarters distance. The improvement shown in the going has brought about a much better class of horses being entered for the various races and from now on some keen spo:t should be witnessed. There are three distance races on the card, the third, sixth and seventh numbers being over the mile and seventy yards route. Two-year-old maidens are to be seen in action in the second tilt, at four and a half furlongs. Altogether, it is one of the best programs offered at the present meeting. POLYCARP — CHARLES AVH1TNET— SEKVITOR. The imp-oved going is much in the favor of POLYCARP in the opening race and he lines up as the most likely winner of the day. He is a sprinter of more than ordinary quality and, in this company, seems to hold considerable of an edge over the others. r II ill I II WHITNEY, winner of his race Thursday, is going to be th* one to beat if he is sent after this purse. He has had plenty of racing of late and it may be his trainer will not elect to race him again today. SERVITOR is not fa- *rom his best form and may be good enough to hold the others safe for third money. JIM BETHEL may have to be reckoned with. MEDDLING SETH should not be ignored. HESITATION— BILL SETH— PHILOMELA. HESITATION is said to be a good one and she may be able to turn the trick in the two-year-old maiden race. She finished fast in her only start over this course and possibly needed that race. Look for a much better effort from her today. BILL SETH has been bang-up in all of his recent races and looms as a real danger. He is a fast starter and, if he should get away winging today, the others may never catch him. PHILOMELA ran a few creditable races at Tijuana last winter and may do for the show end of the purse here. JANE BROOKER rates as best of the others. CITIZEN— GAY BOY IL— HALF. A fair band of platers are to try conclusions in the thirel event and, unless all signs fail, CITIZEN should be returned the winner. He ran a good race his last start, only tiring in the final stages and, with that race serving as a tightener, expect him to romp home in front. GAY BOY II. would prove dangerous company if he repeated his last effort, which was a win. HALU is about due for a good race and may show to better advantage in this field. FIRST CALL is making his first start in some time, but rates a good chance, taking a line through his Florida, races. SETHS HOPE— BEST FRIEND— SURE8HOT. The improved going shoulel enable SETHS HOPE to earn a purse in the fourth. His recent races here have been in the mud and he needs a fast racing strip to show to best advantage. He is meeting some other speedy ones, but a race to his best form, should see him home the victor. BEST FRIEND is always close up when the finish is reached and today should be no exception. One of these days he is going to surprise and win a race. SURESHOT raced with fair success over the New Orleans tracks and would e n!y have to put forth his best efforts to land in the money today. SHASTA GOLD prefers a longer distance. BEAUTY STAR may prove a real danger. BILLY BAUGHX is not expected to prove a repeater. JACK ALEXANDER— SANOLA— PIGEON WING II. JACK ALEXANDER is picked to defeat the gallant SANOLA in the Fleetwood Handicap. It is no easy matter to pass up the chances of the daughter of Sain, but she is going to meet a fast trick in JACK .ALEXANDER and. If he displays his best form, do not expect her to beat him. The latter was a consistent racer at Tijuana, meeting and defeating the best of them and, with his light weight te day, look for him to prove best. SANOLA is top weight of the race, she and PIGEON WING II. each being asked to carry 115 pounds. It is not expected that they can give JACK ALEXANDER fifteen I pounds and a beating. SILVER SONG is near top form and may cause some trouble. FLORENCE MILLS prefers a longer distance, but her early speed may enable her to land close up. HANDS UP— PRIVATE SETH— BAD LUCK. The manner in which HANDS UP raced tn his previous start, was such to suggest that he is going to be a hard one to beat in the sixth. He finished fast after being away slowly and would need to improve but little over that effort to lead the others ..ome. PRIVATE SETH is about due for a winning trip and would not surprise by winning ....re, but do not think he can match HANDS UPS speed. BAD LUCK is picked to land the short end of the purse, his usual race eing good enough to turn the trick. SCISSORS seems to be improving. LUCY KATE rates an outside chance. GUNSIGHT— HUEY— BARB WIRE. GUNSIGHT seems to be the logical play in the final offering, he having a win and a second to his credit to date and would only need to race in the same manner today to again prove the winner. HUEY was a consistent performer at Tijuana and, if he has retained his best form, will Ue a tough one to beat. BARB WIRE looks like much the best of the others and should not have mucn difficulty in sharing in the purse money. SEA GREEN won her last race, but is a bit outclassed in this company. FAIRLIGHT is inconsistent.
