Start good and slow. Won easily: second and third driving. BEVERWYCK raced close up for the first mile, then raced into the lead in the last turn of th« fiekl and made a bad landing at the twelfth jump, but recovered quickly and won going away. HORMB GROOM was saved until well settled in his stride, then worked his way up gamely and finished w lh a belated burst of speed and was catching the tiring winner with every stride. ENDICOTT raced well and, jumping in good fashion, stood a hard drive in the last half mile and finished resolutely. KANGAROO moved up with a rush, but tired badly near the finish. LITTLE SAM raced close up from the start and. coming fast through the stretch, got up to win in the final sixteenth. INLAID showed the most early speed and saved ground on the turns and waa not persevered with when her stable companion took ti% lead. MERIDA, hard ridden throughout, tired in the final drive. MARK MASTER began slowly and was badly outpaced for the first five-eighths, then gained rap.dly and wore the leaders down to get up to win in the final strides. EDDIE RICKENI.ACHEK. alwavs close up, raced into a brief lead midway of the stretch, but could not withstand the winners rush. ALEX WOODLIFFE came again and was going fast at the end. LEMNOS forced a good earlv pac» and saved ground on the turns, but tired when put to a drive. COPEY BOY showed the most earl/ speed, but bolted out on the stretch run and lost all chances. MADDER MlSIC and IMMOLATOR refused to start and were left flat-footed. PANDERA, outpaced to the first turn, raced into the lead on the back stretch, saved ground on all the turns and came again after being passed and outfinished FAIR STAR in the last few strides. FAIR STAR, close up from the start, took the lead after entering the home stretch and appeared a certain winner, then began to tire in the last sixteenth. SIGNOLA finishd resolutely after .losing a gap, but was a far Jjack third. AROMAGNE raced gamely. DIGNCS quit badly. TltiKESS «ji away slowly and ran poorly. BLACK PANTHER was outpaced to the first turn, but slipped throngh on the inside of PEN-STICK and SANFORD when entering the back stretch and was in a pocket when rounding the far turn, where he was eased back, then, coming to the outside, took command at his riders leisure and was nnder restraint to win with the utmost ease. PENSTICK raced in closest pursuit and moved up gamely after rounding the turn out of the back stretch and passed MARINER, but was easilv eiitfin-ished by the winner. GOLDEX RlLE, reserved off the pace while racing on the outside of the leaders, gained readily when called on and. finishing stoutly, disposed of DANGER SIGNAL, but had to be hard urged to stall off the belated rush of SHADOWDALE. The latter improved his position gamely in the last part aud dosed fast and would have been winner in a few more strides. DANGER SIGNAL shook off keen opposition from CANISTER, saved ground, but faltered in the last eighth. CANISTER was made too nne h. use of in forcing the pace and tired.
