COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 20.— With a well arranged card, featured by the ,200 Inaugural Handicap and indications of favorable attending conditions for racing, the spring meeting of the Beulah Park Jockey Club will get under way here tomorrow. This will mark the opening of the racing season on the Ohio circuit and these prospects for a successful meeting never appeared more encouraging. There are 644 stalls on the grounds, all of which are occupied, and an additional 100 horses are quartered on the outside. The class of the material is above the average, and includes a band of sixteen, which will carry the colors of W. Ray and Garth. They came from Maryland and it will mark the initial appearance of the Garth silks at this course. Thirty-six jockeys have already registered and are on the scene ready to accept mounts, among them being many newcomers to this circuit. The track proper is In excellent condition and the weather outlook for the opening is exceedingly bright. A number of improvements have been made to the plant since the close here last fall, including the erection of a new fifty-six-stall barn in which is located three offices for the use of horsemen. A club house for the horsemen and stable help is another addition, with a ready and writing room in which a steward is in charge to keep everything in order, The entire plant has been renovated this spring and newly painted, adding greatly to the appearance of the buildings. All of the officials were at the course to- day putting all details in readiness for the opening. The list of officials follows : Stew- ards, John Ireland, Joseph Murphy, H. D. Shepherd ; judges, Chester Stands and W. R. Norvell ; starter, Lester Dean ; racing secre-- tary, W. R. Norvell ; clerk of the scale, W. R. Booker and patrol judge, G. R. Wingfield. *
