! LEXINGTON TURF NOTES 4 * LEXINGTON, Ky., April 20. Among the eight horses that John Whitlow has here is the three-year-old Stefan the Great filly. Logde. the property of Joseph E. Widener. Whitlow has Misnomer and Profiteer for the LeMar farm ; Georgie W. for J. D. Weil, a two-year-old for T. C. Bobbit and three racers of his own. L. V. Bellew, Jr.. came in with the platers Blue Granite and Katherine W.. the latter his entire property and the former held jointly by Bellew and R. Wingfield. Frank Taylor has registered twenty-five of the Coldstream Farm Stable horses, which will remain at Coldstream Farm, where they were prepared for the impending racing season. This morning he telephoned a number of entries for the first days races and the stables starters will be vanned from the farm tomorrow morning. This practice will be adhered to throughou: the local meeting. The two-year-old bay filly Florence Dolan. owned by J. Dolan, is an addition to the stable, which W. J. Marlman is training. Al Smilha lias but three horses in training here. E. E. Mooar, Pittsburgh turfman, brought four members of his large stable over from Churchill Downs to race through the meeting here. Singing the praises of Dade Park as a point for wintering and early spring training. L. V. Bellew today registered the fifteen horses that he brought here from the western Kentucky course. Veteran racers attempting comebacks are numerous among the horses here. Among their number are Dr. T. S. Dabney, nine years old, which W. F. Meehan is training ; Col. Taylor, in his twelfth season and in the W. Baumgartner Stable, and the eight-year-old Actuary, in the J. M. Hubbard Stable. The system of maintaining a preferred list here will be identical to the scheme of recent seasons. No distinction for distance or claiming price will be made, preference being entirely for failure to get into the starting field when entered. William Steele, in partnership with W. E. Randolph, has the two-year-old bay filly Suissum ready for racing here. Steele is supervising her training. Roscoe Goose was due in from Churchill Downs late this evening with the Camden Handicap candidate Flattery and the two-year-olds Princeton and War Block, the property of J. N. Camden. S. J. Kelley has in training with three older horses the two-year-old filly Ida Gambler. F. C. McAtee, who has five horses here in charge of A. S. Lewis, will race them under the nom de course of Serenata Farm. T. M. Botts. Covington horseman, will race Anmerode and Toanna for- E. M. Doumani ; Bourbon and Totton, fo.* J. E. Totton ana McComas for himself. Totton is a two-year-old bay gelding by Captain Alcock — Ethel Vale. Recent additions to the stable being trained by George Land are four two-year-olds owned by C. H. Knebelkamp, D. Borden and C. A. Henslee. They are Captain J. S., bay colt, by Midway — Cain Chaser ; McGonigie, bay gelding, by Omar Khayyam — Lady Astor ; Gene Navelle, chestnut gelding, by Midway — Sentimental, and Right of Way, chestnut gelding, by Midway — Mammon. The quartet are products of the breeding farm of W. F. Knebelkamp. A. A. Kaisers Bonivan, the son of Boniface — Lady Ivan, which is eligible for the Kentucky Derby and included in the division of his stable that James Everman brought over from Churchill Downs, breezed a halt-mile on the local track in :57?i this morning. M. M. Shields has succeeded T. Griffin as trainer of the horses of William Dondas and C. R Llewellyn is the new trainer of the Thistledon Stable, formerly under the supervision of W. J. Marlman. The Thistledon establishment, one of the largest here, is owned by George Collins, local sportsman.
