MEMOlilA. close up from the start and ra ing in the best going, came rapidly from the stretch turn and, taking the lead, held POLYGAMIA safe in the final sixteenth. POLYGAMIA was taken bark in the first quarter and raced wide on the last turn, but came with a rush near the end. MALCOLM, also outrui. for a half mile, came with a rush through the stretch. GENBBAL HAI.PEMAN acted fiactiously at the post, threw his rider heavily and ran away, then, being caught in the stable yards and brought back to be remounted, began fast and, racing in close pursuit of SHASTA PINE in the early running, took the lead and drew away in the last sixteenth. SHASTA lINE showed much spe d. but began tiring near the end and barely lasted to save second place. VF.I.I.AS came with a rush through the stretch and was going fast at the end. SHASTA LAD set a fast early pace and raced well. MEDLEY lost much ground on the stretch turn by being raced wide. M.TINKI.E was badly outrun. SHASTA BLLLET lost his rider soon after the start. MISSTEP was well ridilen and ki-pt under restraint for three-quarters, saved ground where possible and, raring into the lead when called on, held TORO safe when the latter challenged and won by a safe margin TORO was taken back soon after the start, then moved up quickly when ridden hard, but was tiring through the las-t sixteenth and had no mishaps. JACK HIOGINS gained aftep going a half mile and was racing garni ly at the end. GALAHAD appeared hopelessly out of any chance in the first half mile, but closed a tremendous gup in the last quarter. SOLACE had no mishaps. BOBASHELA and TYPHOON quit after going throe-quarters and showing fine speed. MART1E FLYNN was close up for the first mile.
