RAIN MARS OMAHA RACING Large Crowd Braves Inclement Weather to Witness Sport at Ak-Sar-Ben Field. OMAHA, Neb., June 2.-r-A cold rain, which started falling after the second race, tended to mar the good program that was run off at Ak-Sar-Ben Field today, but some exciting sport was witnessed by the 5,000 who were courageous enough to brave tiie elements. The feature attraction was the Council Bluffs Handicap, which carried a ,000 purse. Eight of the best sprinters at the course went to the post in this race, Orestes II. was the winner by a nose from Beggar Boy, with Proctor taking third place, and Hhasta Gold fourth. The race was one of the most thrilling contests ever seen at Ak-Sar-Ben Field, and the majority of the crowd cheered itself hoarse rooting fcr its favorites as they charged down the stretch. Orestes II. raced for Miss M. Kelly, and was ridden by K. Legere. Play Tag defeated Al Hotfoot in a driving finish in the first race, and Duffs Time, making his first start here, managed to last long enough to win the second. Wee Girl defeated a small band in the third race, defeating Coalescence by a length, with Captain Adams, the favorite, a distance third. Star-dale won the fourth race. i *
