MANCHESTER CUP RESULT Sol Joels Pons Asinorani Proves Victorious in English Stake — Marshall Fields Filly Last. SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. MANCHESTER, England, June 2.— The Manchester Cup, at one mile and a half, was won here yesterday by Sol Joels Pons Asi-norum from a field of seven starters. Ja:nes de Rothschilds Caporal was second. Mrs. T. Carrhews Talup third, and F. W. Horlocks Adieu fourth. A foul was claimed against the winner, but it was quickly overruled by the officials. Pons Asinorum was ridden by Winter and carried 118 pounds. Caporal, under Dines, and Talup, piloted by Cordell, were light weights, their imposts being 99 and 93 pounds, respectively. Adieu, which was ridden by Wragg, carried 102 pounds. The winner led throughout. The pace was slow and, after holding the rail, the winner finished in the middle of the track. It was claimed that he caused interference when he changed his course, but the bumping was not serious. Pons Asinorum won by three-quarters of a length. The fourth horse was close up. Marshall Fields filly Cinqa Sept was the 3 to 1 favorite and disappointed bitterly. She faded out of the contention soon after the start and finished last of the field. The winner was 5 to 1, Caporal 6 to 1, and Talup 3 to 1.
