STAMPDALE raced close up from the start and. passing MISS LEE, drew away steadily after reaching the stretch and won easing up. THE DAT began slowly, but worked his way up on the outside after going the first quarter and, coming wide into the stretch, finished well. GOLDEN RACKET saved much ground on the turns, was hard ridden and had no mishaps. MISS LEE began tiring after showing the most speed for a half mile. IGNATIUS was far back for the first three-eighths, then worked his way up gradually and, coming on the inside through the stretch, gamely outfiuished TUBEROSE. The latter showed the most speed from the start and made a game but tiring finish. DOLTAIRE raced close up and finished fairly well. MY HOBBY raced in close pursuit to the stretch, where he swerved badly when tiring. COURIER had no mishaps. LADY WITT dwelt slightly at the start, but raced to the leader with a rush and tired in the stretch.
