| NEW YORK TURF NOTES | $ $ NEW YORK, N. Y.. May 28. C. M. Wait, inventor of the stall gate that bears his name, has installed the device at Aqueduct for the use of trainers who desire to school their horses from the stalls. James Fitzsimmons, who has the biggest stable at Aqueduct, will school his horses beginning today. It was discovered after the running of the Maturity Stakes that Royal Stranger had grabbed himself badly when turning into the stretch. E. B. McLeans Toro arrived safely from Louisville and is quartered in the Sagamore Stable at Belmont Park. The son of The Porter made the trip from Kentucky in excellent condition. Isias Howard, veteran layer, checked In from Kentucky for the remainder of the season. The condition of Jack Adler, the announcer, is reported so much improved that he may be able to return to racing within the fortnight, lie has been confined to his hotel quarters for several weeks. Captain P. M. Walker arrived from Pim-lico with his stable. F. J. Kearns shipped another draft of his public stable to Connaught Park from Jamaica the latter part of this meeting. Jockey L. Schaefer will return here from Toronto to ride Dr. Freeland in the Withers. H. R. West stated that he would ship from here to Connaught Park for that meeting. ♦
