UPSET IN FEATURE CONTEST Flossy Hare Surprises by Scoring in Main Race at Ak-Sar- Ben Field. OMAHA, Neb., June 8. — Flossy Hare, one of the neglected starters in the third race, showed considerable class to get home in front. This race was over three-quarters and Cuevas set the pace, but Flossy Hare gained steadily from a slow beginning and wore Cuevas down in the stretch to get up in time. Marcella Agnes finished third. Only six horses went to the post in the fourth, race, but they furnished a fine contest and the winner turned up in Watson, a son of Ballot, which, showing a liking for the going, came from behind to take the purse. Thrace finished second and Herdsman was third. The Spa, making his first start of the meeting, was successful in the opening race, in which eleven faced the barrier. Jody Sinclair set the pace, but the winner had the most courage and, racing gamely in the stretch, got up in time. Jody Sinclair was second and Rotarian was third. Emma Hoagland found a track made to order for her in the second race and showed a game performance to defeat Western Eagle. The pair showed much early speed and hooked up for the final drive twenty yards from the wire. They ran as a team to the finish line, with Emma Hoagland slightly in front all the way. Ask John finished third.
