Won handily; second and third driving. TYROL, under restraint for the first three-eighths, came fast when straightened out in the stretch and drew away in the last seventy yards. SCOTLAND began fast, showed good speed and caused MINO to give way, but tired in the last sixteenth. DOCTOR FRED, far out of it for a half mile, saved much ground and came with a rush right at the end. MINO began slowly, but moved into the lead in the first three-eighths and tired badly in the last sixteenth. BRUNETTE PREFERRED raced away an eighth before the start and showed a good performance in the race. Scratched— 36832Sixty, 118; 36956 Princeton, 103. Overweight — Jim Pryor, 1 pound. BLACK BEETLE, taken completely out of it in the first quarter and raced extremely wide in the atretch, came with a rush in the last eighth and wore down KING NADI. The latter was put to a severe test racing GENERAL GRANT into defeat and, after taking the l-.ad, was overcoufidently ridden. GENERAL GRANT tired after showing fine speed for five-eighths. INDIAN LOVE CALL was close up for a half mile before tiring. RUANE was far back, but finished fast. Scratched— 37027 Bar None, 105. Overweight — Indian Love Call, 1 pound. JUDGE HAY, going in his best form, was restrained until straightened out in the stretch, where he responded gamely when called on and outstayed DJINN in the final strides. DJINN, showing good form, raced into the lead with a rush and, holding on well, continued gamely and was only beaten in the final strides. BROWN BRUTUS, close up from the start, tired in the last eighth. SYMPHOROSA was poorly ridden and outrun. MISSTEP, displaying high speed, moved into a good lead at once and increased it when on the first turn, but began tiring when reaching the last sixteenth and had to be urged hard to outstay SIR HARRY. The latter showed an excellent effort and continued to gain steadily in the stretch and was , going much faster than the winner at the end. CHICAGO raced prominently most of the way and I began tiring in the last eighth. CROSSCO was given a poor ride and suffered from interference. CANAAN raced wide and was eased up in the last eighth. CARUSO acted badly before the start, unseated his rider, and bolted through the fence and raced , around the paddock before being caught and remountid. He was away well, showed fine speed and, holding on gamely in the final drive, just lasted. MORSEL, also showing good speed, was close up | but was tiring near the end. JIMMY MORAN, pounds the best, was taken back sharply in the first quarter and ridden wide on the stretch turn, but came with a rush after swerving to the inner rail 1 and would have won in a few strides more. TIMOUR was close up for half a mile and tired. HERMAN " CORTES showed a good effort. BLUE JOHN tired in the last sixteenth. PARNELL BOY quit after the first quarter. ISOSTASY moved up fast approaching the stretch and, finishing gamely, just lasted for second place. MAXIVA suffered from a bad ride and much interference, but was probably the best. MARLBORO came with a rush in the stretch after saving much ground. FLATTERY tired badly in the stretch. Overweight — Black Spot, 2 pounds. BY GOSH raced far back for three-quarters, was ridden wide thereafter and came with a rush to just miss getting up for second place. RALPn HARTENSTEIN tired in the last sixteenth. FRANCES ROCK quit.
