i I , I HARMED BROTHERS LEAD Win Eight Races at St. Johns for Largest Money Total. Ellis, Sanford and Onklaiid Farm Stables Also Successful During Brief 3Ieeting Dainty Has nigh Average. Harned Brothers took the major winning honors and the largest money pot of the eighteen-day meeting at St. Johns Park, which brought to- a close winter racing in Florida. Their total of ?5,010 was much in excess of the amount, won by J. C. Ellis. E. Sanford and the Oakland Farm Stable, three others that figured prominently. Some of the Harned winners were Estin, Miss Oniue. Boris and Cleora. Eight races were won by this stable. J. C. Ellis Avon five races, provided seven seconds and three thirds for a total of ?3.500. Some of his winners were Birdie-Wrack, Jack Howe, Sandy Hatch and Playfellows Dream. Three of the Sanford winners were Lindy, Chill Wind and Parnell Bound. Sanfords total was ,085, represented by six winners and three thirds. Close behind this stable in the financial total is the. Oakland Farm Stable, whose horses won five races, were second in three and third in three. Photograph was one of the Oakland winners. Twenty-two other owners won in excess of ,000 in purse money. Elfin Star, Louise Wilson and Sport Hallahan each won ,455. They were the only horses which won as many as three races each. F. Dainty was the riding star of the meeting. This little fellow won twenty-three races. He had more mounts than any other jockey and closed the meeting with the proud average of 30 per cent. The St. Johns track distributed a total of ,400 during the eighteen days, a daily average of ?4,9CS.
