BOWIE TURF NOTES BOWIE, Md., April 2. The stewards issued the following ruling following the third race Tuesday : "Jockey C. Critchfield is- suspended for three days for rough riding in the third race." Searington was claimed Tuesday by James Coffey for ,000. Frank M. Taylor got in with the Rancocas Stable horses that will take part in the Maryland meetings this spring. Val Grain is due to reach Bowie tomorrow with the horses he raced at Agua Caliente. Edward Burke has arranged with Starter Milton to send his chief assistant, Bob Freund, to Havre de Grace every morning to school the two-year-olds. Beginning Thursday, Freund will be on hand to school the youngsters from 7 to 10 a. m. J. Pontius Kentucky Derby candidate, Michigan Boy, got in from New Orleans this morning. The colt made the trip north in good shape. He will be seen in action here some day next week. Consignments from New Orleans, including the horses owned by C. Cafarelli, E. Van Rae, J. J. Meyers, Joe Buscher and H. Huntley, arrived this morning. Dr. J. Fred Adams acquired Keydet via the claiming route on Tuesday when he took that racer for ,750. Mose Simon, who is looking after the horses that race for James Rowan, reports that the latter is showing steady improvement. Rowan suffered a fractured skull last winter at Miami as a result of an automobile accident. Yancy Christmas announced that he would campaign his stable at the smaller meetings in Maryland this summer. He has already engaged stabling for twelve horses at Hag-erstown. Jockey Freddy Stevens has signed up with G. W. Foreman and will have the mount on the three-year-old, Ned O., in his races this spring. Benny Beach will look after Stevens riding engagements. Burlap was claimed Wednesday by M. Eckman for ,500.
