REST FOR LITTLE COLONEL S. J. Kelley Not to Take Up Son of Colonel Vennie Until About August 1. LEXINGTON. Ky., April 2. S. J. Kelley, the owner of Little Colonel, is back in Lexington this spring with three two-year-olds which are intended for- campaigning n.t me local course. Instead of keeping Little Colonel in training. Mr. Kelley has turned him out at John Wiggins Military Stock Farm and does not intend to lake him up until about August first. The juveniles brought back from New Orleans are Tea Green, ch. c, by Atwell Easter Bonnet, Sweet Adelaide, br. f, by Menifee Peggy Kelley, and Irritation, ch. f, by Actuary Little Bit. Mr. Kelley has been looking alter the mares and young stock which he has quartered in the Blue Grass during the past day or two and says he is enthusiastic over a chestnut yearling by Bagenbaggage Kitty M., which is quartered at Military Stock Farm. Many have already adjudged this youngster a good one, as far as conformation, blood lines and looks go. Kitty M. is by Bourbon Beau, by Star Shoot, and the mare is from Witch Hazel, by Horoscope, by Am-phion. Mr. Kelley also has a weanling by Bagenbaggage at Mr. Wiggins farm, this one being from Easter Bonnet, foaled on March 17, the same day that Tea Green, from the same mare, won a race at New Orleans. Mr. Kelley says he will name the 1930 foal Tara. Mr. Kelley lias three mares: Cream Puff, in foal to Bagenbaggage; Banbury Cross, in foal to Colonel Vennie, and Peggy Kelly, in foal to Angon, quartered at Miss Lula Keiths farm in the county. The owner is rather enthusiastic over the chances of Tea Green, saying he is one of the best horses he ever trained.
