SQUAB, quickest to start but outpaced rounding the-turn, drew clear when straightened out in the stretch to win with something to spare. OVER SHADY, in close attendance of the leader in the .first quarter mile, made a wida turn into the stretch and lost ground, but held MARY EDEItl.Y safe. The latter saved ground entering the stretch and finished fast. TEA GOWN displayed a flash of speed rounding the turn, but tired when straightened out in the stretch. The others wera navcr prominent. YEGGMAN took command at the start and, showing the most speed, held sway, but was ridden out in the stretch to hold CECELIA GROIJ safe. The latter, a forward contender all the way, finished fast. SAMBO G., well up throughout, disposed of SAM SWEENEY in the stretch run. The latter, close up on the outside from the start, tired and swerved to the inside in the final eighth. MARY ELOISE closed a good gap from a slow start. CORSICAN was unable to improve his position. APOSTLE had a rough race. HERli ASII15Y assumed an easy lead after entering the back stretch and, steadied in front until entering the stretch, opened up a commanding lead when called upon, but was in hand at the end. FAIR CLASS, rated back of the pace until midway around the lower turn, moved up gradually under punishment, but could not overhaul the winner. MAINSHEET. prominent throughout, held on well in the final eighth and was easily best of the others. FAIR GOLD had no mishaps. IIEDGEFENCE, on the outside in the early racing, was taken behind the others in the last three-eighths. GUNTIIER tired in the final quarter mile. SANDY FORD, hustled into the lead going to the 1 first turn, saved ground all the way and. responding courageously in the stretch under punishment, would have won in another stride. INCEPTION, a contender all the way, finished gamely in the last quarter 1 mile, but was unable to improve his position. JOE MARISONE III., under slight restraint for five- -eighths, gained slowly in the final three-eighths, but appeared to tire in the final drive. ROCARATONE finished fast. MR. DESMOND raced evenly. KINGBIRD forced a steady pace in the early racing and raced OLD TIMES into defeat rounding the lower turn and continued gamely in the stretch to outlast SEARINGTON in the final drive. The : latter, under steady restraint and, saving ground throughout, finished gamely in the last quarter mile and was wearing down the winner at the end. TONY JOE, well up and clear of interference throughout, moved up fast entering the stretch, then tirid as if short. LIGHT VIEW finished resolutely and outstayed FRANK FULLEN. The latter pulled up going to the first turn, moved up fast rounding the lower turn, but lost much ground and Martin rode a listless finish. STUPENDOUS tired after going half a mile. OLD TIMES quit. JACK HAWKSLEY moved up with a rush on the outside of the leaders ronnding the lower turn and, responding with determination under pressure, outlasted FAIR BILL in the final drive. The e latter appeared sore going to the post, was rated in close pursuit of the leaders until straightened out t in the stretch and, saving ground, made a game chlalenge, but could not overtake the winner. TALL GRASS, very slow to get going, closed a big gap and outstayed CISFIELD at the finish. CISFIELI had II no excuses. LAURIE finished resolutely. CHATTAHOOCHEE tired after going three-quarters.
