which races for the Catawba Stable of airs Madlyne West and ridden by Marvin Knight accounted for the Fulton Handicap the best offering on the Monday program this after ¬ noon His victory came after a drive in which he outstayed Khara from the Ran ¬ cocas Stable while Frank E Browns Bud Broom was third There was but one with ¬ drawal in the race the sole one of the day Martis MartisThere There was a slight delay at the post but starter Cassidy got them away to a good start Tripping Toe showed the way pressed by Rapid Transit while Eddie Ahearn was in third place with Khara and Chianti farther back Those positions were main ¬ tained to the stretch turn where there was a general closing up Bud Broom which had dropped back in the early stages was taken to the outside while Fator on Khara slipped through next to the inner rail After the stretch turn had been passed Tripping Toe and Rapid Transit were both through and dropped back while Khara moved into com ¬ mand on the inside Eddie Ahearn which responded to pressure on the outside was moving up steadily The pair hooked up in a spirited duel through the final sixteenth and Eddie Ahearn proved gamer than the filly in the final for which W R Coes Masked Ball beginning from the outside and crossing over sharply was held responsible resulting in her disqualification after she fin ¬ ished second to J S Elliotts Sydka at the end of five furlongs Phantasime which races for the Middleburg Stable was third The official placing after the disqualification moved the Greentree Stables Dippy into third place behind Sydka and
