SHIPPING FROM LEXINGTON Majority of Horses Being Vanned to Churchill Downs Kentucky Association Completes FifteenDay Sleeting Which Is Classed a Satis ¬ factory by Officials LEXINGTON Ky May 5 The Kentucky Association which has been giving race meetings for the enjoyment of Kentucky thoroughbred fans for more than 100 years Saturday completed a successful fifteen day meeting which in point of attend ¬ ance and monetary rewards can be classed as satisfactory The management just about broke oven on the venture and as long as Messrs S S Combs Thomas S Scott and their associates can pull out of the hole with a little profit or a little loss they are sat ¬ isfied The last few days of the meeting were much better than the first seven or eight days furnishing proof that Lexington can support a fifteenday meeting meetingThis This morning there was an exodus of thoroughbreds for other points with the bulk of the shipments going to Churchill Downs for the meeting which starts there next Satur ¬ day afternoon Vans were busy from early in the morning until late in the afternoon with the horses of W E Hupp John Ward Jack Howard and others being loaded for shipment shipmentR R C Frakcs for years one of the most efficient trainers of thoroughbreds in Ken ¬ tucky said today that he had given up all horses which he has had in training this spring and would rest for the remainder of the year He said the fear of another ner ¬ vous breakdown had resulted in his action actionBelle Belle of Bourbon Lair Parrishs two yearold filly which ran such a sensational race in her first start here a week ago has been turned over by Frakes to J M Hukill who will take her to Churchill Downs Belle of Bourbon is a halfsister to Bourbon Maid and other winners Mr Frakes considers her one of the best fillies he ever trained He said he had turned over the twoyearolds Presume and Best Ace to Graves Sparks to train while the filly Jeanne Wachs property of E Gay Drake which failed to respond to training as satisfactorily as had been antici ¬ pated had been turned out for a few weeks at Mr Drakes farm The filly Netie Peb ¬ ble which Frakes has been training for Gorman Bros was sent to Churchill Downs and will be trained by Ike Williams head of the W E Hupp establishment while Rose Pen property of O D Randolph has been turned out and Daulette threeyear old filly property of Mr Frakes has been retired and bred to Golden Guinea GuineaCharles Charles Dodson who will remain at the local track throughout most of the summer sent Mexican D to Louisville in charge of C C Van Meter Mexican D is the property of J L Carrick of Georgetown Ky KyJoe Joe Patterson announced today that he had disposed of the twoyearold Donna Vivian a brown filly by Donnacona Mile Vivian which finished second to Betty Derr in her first start here early in the meeting to J P Headley who operates the Paradise Stock Farm The filly was sent to Aurora with the Headley horses Mr Patterson also announced that he had disposed of Adventure ous and Valum to Frank B Garber and the horses VirginiaGraves had been shipped to Virginia Graves Sparks who is training the horses owned by H B Hanger Jr said he would pass up the Churchill Downs meeting and ship to Latonia He said the twoyearold Swift Pal came out of his last race with bucked shins and that various ailments had so crippled his stable that he thought it useless to go to Louisville
