back Melita II in the silks of the Flying Horse Farm Stable lost his rider at the twelfth fence and was elimi ¬ nated Eider with L Veitch in the saddle lost no time in going away into an easy lead at the lower turn of the field and for a moment Raspberry was permitted to go along in chase Mastery was some distance back and just showed in the van of Melita II Eider was striking some of his fences but Veitch was quick enough to hold him together Reaching the last turn of the field Melita II displaced Raspberry to force the pace but a bad landing at the twelfth fenr unseated W Marsters and this afforded Eider more opportunity to draw away as Rasp ¬ berry was dropping back steadily and Mas ¬ tery was beaten after a mile Through the closing stages Veitch took the big Eastland topper under restraint and he just galloped from the last elbow to the end of the journey
