Jack High made it overshadow the Swift a seven furlongs dash for threeyearolds threeyearoldsConditions Conditions could not be Improved upon for the sport The track was fast the weather balmy and the crowd was a surprisingly large one oneIn In this Tenny Handicap there was an unreasonably long delay at the post when Eddie Ahearn and Chatford were both on their bad behavior Then the start was a bit ragged with The Heathen more alert than the others while the filly Capture was badly bumped before fairly under way and knocked out of contention contentionEddie Eddie Ahearn was right with The Heathen with Rapid Transit in third place as they left the barrier Then came Capture until she was knocked back with Caruso Jack High Sandy and Chatford following in the order named namedFOLLOWS Eddie Ahearn had dropped back rather badly I Rapid Transit did not last long in his place j and next it was Caruso that came into the picture But The Heathen was still show ¬ ing the way and Jack High was going along under a slight restraint back of him himAs As The Heathen swung into the stretch it was apparent that McAtee could go to the front with Jack High at the first ask ¬ ing but he was riding a supremely con ¬ fident race and the handsome chestnut was sweeping along smoothly Caruso was going well in third place and Chatford was stead ¬ ily making up ground groundIt It was no race in the last furlong for Jack High drew away with the utmost ease until he crossed the line winner in hand by three lengths The Heathen had lasted to beat Caruso a length and a half for the place and Chatford was another length and a threeyearoldJack half back of the Coe threeyearold Jack High is in the Metropolitan Handi ¬ cap under 110 pounds against the 126 pounds he carried in this sprint and Hornpipe from the Wheatley Stable saved third from Crucifixion a big son of Negolol that races for the Lone Star Stable As a matter of fact the race run by Crucifixion was the sensation of the con back of him Bide a Wee was forced to race outside the pair of them and turning into the stretch she lost considerable ground Hornpipe tired in the final furlong and there Bide a Wee staged her game finish when under the ap ¬ prentice Quillen she beat Milkman on which McAtee had the mount by a head The pair were a length before Hornpipe and he in turn only nosed out Crucifixion which had closed
