TRACK SUITS OLD DUTCH Ferguson Racer Splashes in Four Lengths Ahead of Others The Doctor Favorite Unplaced in Long LongBranch Branch Third Which Is Won by Fair FairPolly Polly Tipsy an Easy Winner TORONTO Ont June 10 J D Fergusons Old Dutch found a track to his liking and made his opposition appear decidedly medi ¬ ocre in the fourth a sprint of six furlongs Meridian Queen another that showed a de ¬ cided fancy for the sloppy going was second Third place went to Macil which came from far back backOld Old Dutch as usual was the first to leave the barrier but instead of opening up on hia opponents as is his custom he was taken back into third place indulging Propus and Meridian Queen with the pacemaking Pass ¬ ing the halfmile pole the fiveyearold was only a half length off the leaders and still under a steadying pull Approaching the threefurlongs pole Snider let out a wrap on Old Dutch He quickly raced into the lead and before another furlong had been tra ¬ versed he opened up a four lengths advan ¬ tage on his field Snider again took him under restraint and simply splashed through the mud to be returned a cantering winner by four lengths lengthsMeridian Meridian Queen easily went into second place when Propus was taken up when in close quarters around the far turn The daughter of Meridian easily withstood a be ¬ lated threat from Macil nearing the stretch She continued with nice courage in the final furlong and was well clear of Macil at the finish Macil lacked speed to keep up early but came stoutly in the last quarter Char ¬ ley J S was a disappointment in the run ¬ ning He lacked speed and trailed far out of it all the way while Propus after meet ¬ ing interference stopped utterly utterlyThe The heavy rains of the forenoon accom ¬ panied by intermittent showers throughout the afternoon turned the racing strip into sloppy mud The attendance was the light ¬ est of the meeting meetingFAST FAST LIFE IN FRONT FRONTChic Chic Lang saddled the first winner of the afternoon when Fast Life splashed his way to a victory in the five furlongs of the opener Noisy Miss was second after wag ¬ ing a bitter struggle the entire last quar ¬ ter mile only to succumb by the scantiest of margins Two and a half lengths further away came Justiciary while Ike Mann was fourth three lengths back backFast Fast Life guided by V Smith moved into contention with a rush in the opening furlong and went to the outside of Noisy Miss which was racing in the van The pair fought it out desperately with Fast Life proving the gamer of the two Noisy Miss saved ground all the way and despite a rousing ride from Frank Mann was unable to stave off the winner Justiciary came to the outside of the leaders when straight ¬ ened away for the stretch run Cannon put him to punishment but was never able to make up any ground on the first two twoA A L Wynston Jr supplied the winner of the Canadianbred affair that was placed second on the program when Tipsy was returned a cantering winner At the end of the seven furlongs Tipsy was five lengths in advance of Arthur Brents Bloomtip Third went to Sphere of Beauty racing for W G Campbell CampbellDuggan Duggan kept the Wynston fiveyearold closer to the pace than usual in the early running and assumed command with a rush when straightened out for the run to the fin ¬ ish Once in front Tipsy continued to open up on her nearest rival and was being eased up as the finish was reached Bloomtip saved ground all the way and took a brief lead when the early pacemaker began fal ¬ tering but was no match for the winner when challenged Sphere of Beauty under restraint for the first three furlongs closed 1 stoutly thereafter but was unable to menace the first two Fair Oil was installed the choice but weakened in the last quarter after being up with the leaders for the first five furlongs Grab Bag was neer in danger of losing the place being three lengths ahead of Turkeys Neck with the tiring The Doc ¬ tor fourth fourthANOTHER ANOTHER FOR W CANNON CANNONWillie Willie Cannon local apprentice piloted his sixth winner of the meeting when he scored with Fair Folly for his contract employer II G Bedwell This was in the third event another seven furlongs affair H L Mitchells Grab Bag was second after cutting out all the race Turkeys Neck was along in the last few strides after bearing out entering the stretch to wear down the favorite The Doc ¬ tor for third award awardThe The start was held up six minutes due to the bad post behavior of the winner Fair Folly was first away but was soon outrun by Grab Bag and Turkeys Neck The Doctor was quickly rushed into contention on the in ¬ side Grab Bag continued to dominate the running while the favorite was knocked back as he attempted to go through on the inside leaving the back stretch Meanwhile Cannon began moving around on the outside outsideTurning Turning for home Grab Bag had shaken off Turkeys Neck and opened up on his field It was then that Fair Folly was re ¬ leased from restraint and she quickly drew to the leader and was going away at the end endWrackster Wrackster threeyearold son of Wrack and Phils Sister well suited by the sloppy going made every pole a winning one in the seven furlongs of the fifth Foden went to the front with the Brent color bearer soon after the start and took him under a steady ¬ ing pull withstood repeated challenges from Campfire Maid and Talky and had enough left for the final issue to hold Viscose safe The latter forced his way through passing the half mile pole and was put under punish ¬ ment in an effort to reach the winner but was always held safe Trapland worked her way up gradually saved ground entering the stretch closed stoutly and easily dis ¬ posed of Talky for the show
