TRACK CHANGE THREATENED THREATENEDThunderstorms Thunderstorms Affect Attendance at Riverside Gussie Pool Wins Juvenile Race KANSAS CITY Mo June 10 Weather conditions were anything but ideal for to ¬ days racing at Riverside Park and while the racing was conducted over a fast track threatening thunderstorms together with an extremely cold breeze from the north kept the attendance far below the average averageGussie Gussie Pool from the stable of J Hayes was the winner of the first race which was a claiming affair for twoyearolds H T Palmers Early was the one to place and Crooning carrying the colors of G P Jen ¬ kins was third The winner was quickly rushed into the lead and made all her own pace but near the end had to be hard ridden to hold Early safe The latter was gaining fast all through the final eighth Crooning vas rushed into contention on the inside in the early running but began bearing out badly on the lower turn losing much ground She would have been a more serious con ¬ tender had she raced straight and true Heel antoe was closing gamely in the final drive driveWhat What might have been a serious accident was narrowly averted shortly after the start of the second race when Dr McArthur breaking from the outside position swerved to the inside and bumped Alight Both horses lost their riders Coming from behind in the stretch Golden Locks racing in the colors of J Bronnenberg wore down the pacemaking Sir Albert to win going away by a half length The latter had taken a long lead when Someway quit but could not match strides with the winner in the final drive Whizzing Cloud came with a rush in the last seventy yaids to take the third portion of the purse from the tiring Someway Three noses separated the third horse from the fifth It was not a truly run race as the riderless Dr McArthur and Alight raced up with the leaders all the way and caused a lot of interference with the field fieldJockey Jockey H Louman has departed for Mon ¬ treal Canada Jockey C Eames left for Thistle Down
