CHU CHU went around the leaders on the first turn and. drawing away into a good lead, faltered after half a mile, but outstayed SPANISH FLIRT. The latter, close up from the start, held on gamely. PLAYAROUND, in close quarters to the first turn, raced on the inside in the last three eighths and could not get to the leaders. ROSA W. began fast and tired in the stretch. SCOTLAND BLUES met interference. LELLA LEE was under brisk urging in the last quarter. PREFER was crowded back. FLUENT was crowded back on the turn. MEDDLESOME MISS breezed off an eighth before the start. QUIVER, lucky to keep up due to insufficient room in the first quarter, worked his way clear near the turn and saving ground on the stretch turn, went to the outside and. closing gamely, wore down HOLIDAY. The latter raced into a lone lead on the turn, but bore out while holding on gamely and only gave way in the last seventy yards. ST. JIM began slowly, saved much ground and closed fast. LAILA WILD, close up with a loss of ground, held on fairly well. ROY. on the inside most of the way, could not get up. ROYAL SON be"an~slowlv. GUN FIRE quit. STAR PLAY was done after half a mile. PRINCE FOX quick to start and escaping the crowding, forced the early pace under restraint and, quickly disposing of MANNERS when called upon, was ridden out. LITTLE COUSIN swerved badly in the first eighth but held on well. ADOBE POST, repeatedly impeded in the early stages, saved ground on the stretch turn and was bumped when going strongly in the stretch. THLNDERTONE showed a fair performance. MANNERS weakened badly after showing a flash of early speed. PITTSBURGHER, cleverly ridden and rated behind the leaders under restraint to the stretch turn, took the lead with a rush, crossed sharply to the inside after taking the lead and tired in the final stages. SPANISH PLAY showed speed and was much used wearing down SWEEP ALL and tired. SWEEP ALL. cut off on the first turn, took the lead, but was forced back when the winner crossed over in the stretch and closed strongly when brought to the outside and was going fastest of all at the end.
