f JAMAICA TURF NOTES f t 1 NEW YORK, N. Y., May 12. Entries for the five-day meeting of the New York State Fair at Syracuse closed with a brilliant list of the finest turf stars of the country. Every big stable in the East was represented by its best thoroughbreds. All five stakes filled to capacity. Apprentice S. Bilinski was suspended for two days by the starter for disobedience at the post in the first race. Questionnaire, the star of the James Butler stable, was given a mile trial at Belmont Park yesterday morning in preparation for the Metropolitan Handicap. The four-year-old moved along smartly over a cuppy track. He was timed for the first five furlongs in :59 and the distance in 1:40%. Dr. T. M. Cassidy left last night for Louisville, Ky., to witness the running of the Derby. Woods Garth was an arrival from Pim-lico with his stable. Jockey J. Bejshak was an arrival and will accept mounts here for the final few days of the meeting. He is with the Sagamore Stable. Bejshak is making his engagement. E. M. Beyers was a visitor of the day, arriving in time to witness his Symbol perform. The Brandon Stable, at private terms, purchased the three-year-old fillies Kitty Hills and Dona Betty. They will be shipped to the farm in Virginia and mated with Tutti Fruitti. R. V. Boyle shipped his stable to Woodbine Park, while W. E. Martin and Joe Kahn sent three horses to Connaught Park, Ottawa. The following owners shipped to Bain bridge Park, C. R. Fleischmann, J. Yerian, W. E. Anderson and Joe Miller. Capt. Harry P. Stoddart checked in after a Maryland spring season.
