VETERAN TURFMEN PASS AWAY KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 12.— Word has been received here that H. Dougherty, veteran owner, dropped dead in a garage at Indianapolis, while en route here. J. Roth, aged 87, dropped dead while leading a horse from the chute to the track. His remains were taken to Parkville, pending word from relatives. Roth was supposed to have lived just outside the Northampton track at Akron.
