I TH0RNCLIFFE TURF NOTES $ $ TORONTO, Ont, May 13. Thunder Lark, which is destined for a career as a steeplechaser, was schooled over six jumps at Woodbine this morning. Jockey Blackburn, who schooled the Wilson jumper, claimed he was the best jumper he has ever ridden. Flying Fisher, Lord Rockville, Pal de Mar and Devas Vale, juveniles trained by Jack Hutton, are all suffering from bucked shins. With the exception of Pal de Mar, the juveniles are Canadian-foaled. Foster Hewitt, well-known sports authority, will broadcast the running of the races at Thorncliffe during the entire meeting. Thorncliffe has inaugurated a free van service for horsemen stabled at Woodbine. During the Woodbine meeting the Ontario Jockey Club will also run a free van for the horsemen that are stabled at Thorncliffe. Among the distinguished visitors that were seen on the club house lawn at the opening of the Canadian racing season at Thorncliffe were the following: G. H. Henry, premier of Ontario; Lieut.-Governor Ross, R. S. McLaughlin, H. C. Hatch, R. H. Davies, Ed. Seagram, J. D. Hawthorne, Mrs. F. S. Livingston, R. Gothomson, W. H. Moore, Mrs. W. R. The Canadian Racing Associations were notified by wire by members of the Maryland Racing Commission. Jockey Harold Thomas, injured at Havre de Grace while riding at that meeting, has been confined to a hospital at Elizabeth, N. J. He is expected at Thorncliffe in the near future, and will report to trainer Dave Boyle at that point. Lommern, the imported thoroughbred which Mrs. D. Boyle campaigned with marked success last season on Canadian tracks, has been put back in training. Lommern was turned out during the winter on the farm of H. Stuart of Agincourt. Voltear and Ebuford have been placed on starter Marshall Cassidys outside list, that is, any race in which they may be entered they will occupy the outside post position. «
