SUN TEATIME raced JAFFA off her feet early and, drawing away on the far turn, hugged the rail all the way and drew out without effort in the last eighth. HOWEE began slowly and raced wide on the far turn, then tired under punishment in the stretch. DARK VICTORY closed a big gap and would have been second in another stride. STEP OFF, slow to get going, was forced to work her way up on the outside, and was going fastest of all at the end. ZARF tired and was eased up. JUDGE CAVERLY broke slowly, was not rushed in the early stages, moved to within striking distance in the back stretch, came around the leaders rounding the far turn and drew into a safe lead, which was not seriously threatened thereafter. BILLY BAUGHN, away fast, was hustled along, succumbed to the challenge of the winner, but hung on well. MARENGO, away well, was taken back off the pace after a half mile and could not regain his speed when called on again. STAR raced evenly. ELIZABETH tired badlv.
