AMOUR was always close up and, wearing down the early leaders in the stretch, took the lead and held BAYAMO safe. The latter came fast on the outside in the stretch and gained rapidly. CHAUMIERE set the pace, but tired. MY SWEETS was in close quarters early and might have been closer up with a Stronger rider. PERNOEL quit badlv in the last eighth. Scratched— 57793 Irritation, 102. McKENNA dashed up to the lead after leaving the back stretch and, assuming a good lead in the stretch, won easily thereafter. AMERICAN THUNDER had the most early speed and, while unable to resist the winner, was much the best of the others. CASH PLAY was always close up, but did not threaten the leaders. DIXIANA made up ground in the stretch. PALMETTE PANGLE might have been closer up with a Stronger rider. BOOK DENNIS began slowly. HARPOON raced well and, clinging to a short lead in game fashion, barely missed. SEARINGTON showed improvement and raced closer up than usual in the early running. RALPH HARTENSTEIN showed a good effort under an ordinary ride. PRINCE Til Til tired in the stretch. FOREBEC broke slowly and met with early interference. VOLE was also in trouble early. FEU FOLLET pulled up very lame.
