Won easily; second and third driving. PREFER, lucky at the start and taken into the lead, drew into decisive command on the turn and, maintaining fine speed, won easily thereafter. EEANORS CHOICE raced up fast on the outside in the first eighth, saved ground in the last three-eighths, but could not get up. STELLA F. appeared to have an advantage at the start, then dropped back slightly going to the first turn and held the others safe in the stretch. SPANISH FLIRT dropped back near ihe stretch and was outrun thereafter. SUSU began slowly and lost much ground on the first turn. LIGHT EAGLE, awav slowlv, was on the inside most of the wav. PEGGY LEHMANN showed early speed. HUSIE MOLLOY and COTTON TIME were blocked at the start. VALDOSTA, slow to get going, raced wide and tired after three-quarters. DORITA began well, but was eased up as her rider returned a foot to the stirrup iron and. saving ground, tired in the stretch. BONTVAN began slowly. VIOLA STINSON had no mishaps. PERCENTAGE dropped back after three-eighths and was badly outrun thereafter. ANNA BEALL showed eood earlv speed. MENDELL showed speed from the start and, racing wide while holding on well, out finished DON ROMIRO. The latter, hustled into the lead, *et the pace under hard riding, then tired. PRINCESS A. A. showed a fair performance. MATINEE GIRL was going gamely in the final stages. OUR CHERRYCOTE dropped out of it suddenly on the far turn. I SAY was outrun and showed a dull performance. SCOTLANDS GLORY, never far back until reaching the final five-sixteenths, responded strongly when called upon and, wearing down UP ABOVE, outfinished MAJOR LANPHIER. The latter began slowly, lost much ground on the turn and, closing fast after going to the inside in the stretch, was wearing down the winner. UP ABOVE showed speed from the start, disposed of HIGH COLOR after three-eighths and drew into a long lead, but tired badly. KENASHAW raced wide throughout. ROYAL RUFFIN could not get up. HIGH COLOR was under vigorous urging when showing keen early speed, then quit. MARTHA JONES refused to start with the others and was left in the machine. KADIAK raced far back to the stretch, where he swerved while closing some ground. SARCASTIC quit. BUFFFER was done after three-quarters. Overweight — James M., 22 pounds.
