The latter raced SQUEAKY into defeat and held on to the end. HIBALA challenged gamely in the last sixteenth, but tired in the stretch. SQUEAKY, a factor in the early racing, had no mishaps. BLACK MAMMY began slowly, moved up fast and finished gamely. CHICKAHOMINY had no mishaps. STAND BY was outrun. TUSKEGEE quit under pressure. The latter, outrun to the stretch turn, went to the outside and finished gamely. HIGHLAND BELLE showed good speed for three-quarters, then quit and was not persevered with in the stretch.
