LORD ALGY acted badly at the barrier, but began fast and, shaking off CASSADA leaving the bacK stretch, raced into a clear lead and was never in danger. BOOCAP was close up from the start and, closing resolutely through the stretch, was easily second best. CASSADA saved ground throughout and tired. MARE- CHAL could not get up. BOOK MAID closed a gap. HAPPY FELLOW also closed a gap. KING MAXM quit badly. MONTFERRAT, close up from the start, quickly took the lead on the stretch turn and, closing reso lutely, held ALTAVAR safe in a driving finish. ALTAVAR made a game attempt in the stretch, but was not - good enough. WEE TOT acted badly at the barrier, improved her position with a rush on the stretch tuni and closedwell. MEMORIAL DAY tired. JOANNE E. was away slowly, rushed into contention on the insida after an eighth, but fell when leaving the back stretch. SENATOR SETH, outrun the first part, came around the outside of the leaders in the stretch and. closing strongly, disposed of DAPHNE BELLE and SOUTHERN BEAUTY and drew out to an easy win; SOUTHERN BEAUTY took command between the calls in the stretch and, although holding on gamely could not resist the winner. DAPHNE BELLE tired. ASGO closed a big gap from a slow beginning ANNETTE was away slowly. JACK ENARC tired, as did BAY LAD.
