Won driving; second and third the same. j DELMONICO followed the pacemaker under restraint until reaching the final quarter where, responding to vigorous urging, he worked his way up steadily and was up to win in the final strides. ADALOR T., racing J improved, showed good speed, saved ground and held on well, but was not good enough. SISTONY saved much ground, moved up mildly on the stretch turn, but tired in the final drive. THOMAS SETH, racing in his best form and under a hustling ride, was a strong factor from the start, quickly wore down PURPLE ROBE after reaching the stretch and, continuing fast, drew away fast in the final eighth. PURPLE ROBE began fast, showed good speed and tired in the final sixteenth, but outlasted FLORENCE DOLAN. The latter, taken back on the turn, came through on the inside after entering the stretch and closed with a rush. KING HALMA had no mishaps. LORD VALENTINE showed a fair performance. MY INVER, away slowly, was never a factor, but closed some ground. TRYING showed early speed. PIECEMEAL, a factor throughout, tired, yet outlasted PRINCE RENO. The latter, taken back repeatedly, closed fast. PRINCESS CRUSADER tired. RIVET, given a timid ride and taken far out of it, was unable to reach the leaders when hard urged in the closing quarter. JOEMMA ran out all the way. WOTAN met sharp interference from LIGHT MINT on the first turn, was rated along under restraint and with great confidence until the final quarter, where he responded well and, moving up with a rush, disposed of NYACK for an easy win. The latter, also, under strong reserve in the early stages, worked his way up entering the stretch and suffered mildly when the winner swerved to the inside in the closing eighth. GAIL LARDIA showed good speed, saved ground, then tired. PROSE AND POETRY, taken back when in close quarters early, lost ground, but closed resolutely. MINE SWEEPER tired. BEGGAR LADY unseated her rider while at the post and ran away a quarter of a mile, was well in hand following in nearest pursuit of the pacemaker the opening five-eighths, was in close quarters entering the stretch and weakened in the final eighth.
