Start good out pi machine. Won ridden out; second and third driving. SONG HIT took a commanding lead with a rush in the first eighth, was then steadied in front to the last eighth and, responding to hard, urging, held the race safe thereafter. RABBLE followed closest to the early pace while saving ground, only to tire in the stretch, yet outlasted CATHERINE FOX under punishment. CATHERINE FOX, crowded back leaving the back stretch, gradually improved her position on the outside and finished with a belated rush. LUCKY RACKET saved ground throughout, but was unable to get up. RUFFIAN closed resolutely. MISS IDA closed a big gap from a slow start. BLANKET BAY quit. Scratched 66186 Sun Teatime, 107. TRY SWEET took a short lead in the stretch, then tired. SEYMOUR, always a factor, outlasted RENOVAH. The latter outbroke the others but raced green. BRACER swerved in the final sixteenth. PLAYFOLE began fast and took a good lead in the first eighth, was rated in front on the turn, but continued to increase her advantage and won with speed to spare. DR. SYNTAX, closest to the leader throughout, was hard urged in the last three-eighths, but could never-improve his position. UNENCUM--BERED, eased back early, moved up resolutely on the outside of the leaders on the stretch turn, then tired. EL PUMA came through on the inside in the final three-eighths and might have been third with a stronger ride. ON SIR, racing forwardly in the early stages, was taken wide into the stretch and lost ground, but came again and finished fastest of all but the winner. HOME WORK was always outrun. PRINCE TOKALON, saved for three-quarters, gained steadily when called upon through the stretch, disposed of MERIDIAN QUEEN and won going away. MERIDIAN QUEEN, away fast, drew out at once, set an even pace under light restraint and, challenged, gamely responded, but was not good enough. IMPISH, slow as usual to get going, improved his position, steadily on the turn, then tired. ISLAM, racing on his own courage in the early stages, saved ground entering the stretch and finished resolutely. SUNFIRE, weak-. ly handled throughout, closed fast on his own courage. FLYING HEELS, quick to get going, set a fast early pace, withstood repeated challenges from the others on the turn, then drew out in the stretch under a steady hand ride. DON LEON followed the leader closely for half a mile, responded gamely in the stretch and held MABLA safe. The latter began slowly, moved up forwardly between the leaders midway around the turn then, taken to the outside in the final quarter, finished resolutely. KNIGHT COMMANDER, close up, saved ground throughout and held on gamely in the stretch. PANETIAN moved up fast on the outside leaving the back stretch, then tired in the closing eighth. LEROS quit. VANDER POOL moved up between the leaders after the first quarter, but was crowded back to last place and was not persevered with thereafter. DON TASKER, in close quarters reaching the turn, finished gamely when clear and easily shook off PHANTOM ROCK. The latter, a factor for three-quarters, tired. RUBRIDGE raced evenly throughout. BATTLING ON, used up racing BLACK BELT into defeat, continued to hold on gamely and outlasted SOUR MASH. The latter finished resolutely in the last eighth. BLACK BELT quit as if short.
