BURTON AGNES IN TRIUMPH Scores Popular Victory in Agua Caliente Oaks Durango Takes Arizona Claiming Stakes. AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, Jan. 25. Burton Agnes, a filly by Sweep On My Lady, scored an exceedingly popular victory in the Agua Caliente Oaks, which headlined the Agua Caliente program Sunday afternoon. The three-year-old miss, racing coupled with Marvina in a six-horse field, scored by a neck from Gallineta, while Taches was third. The winner and her running companion were coupled as the Pasadena Stable entry and were top heavy favorites. They paid but .00. Durango, J. Emerys fast finishing three-year-old, won the second running of the Arizona Claiming Stakes, secondary feature on Sundays Agua Caliente program. The winner wore down the lightly weighted Daily News in the stretch and won by a head. Daily News was second and Seths Hope, high weight of the race, came with a belated rush to be third. Whipper Cracker was a poor fourth. Seths Hope, racing coupled with Seths Pride, was favored. The race was at one and one-eighth miles.
