LOUISIANA DERBY ENTRIES NEW ORLEANS, La., Jan. 25. Nominations for the 0,000 added Louisiana Derby, the principal stake on the Louisiana Jockey Clubs program for the current Fair Grounds meeting, are coming in in good numbers according to racing secretary Joseph McLennan. First closing of entries at 5 per subscription is set for Saturday, and the final day for the supplementary nominations at 00 each will be March 5. McLennan is confident that the Louisiana Derby, in its first running at the Fair Grounds, will prove the outstanding race of the winter. In addition to the many brilliant three-year-olds here, the race is expected to attract the best developed at Oriental Park, Hiaieah Park and Agua Caliente. The Derby will be run at a mile and one-eighth on March 19, the closing day of the meeting.
