RUSSELL worked his way up fast in the stretch and, wearing down NICK D., drew away and won under restraint. The latter shook off LITTLE MARCELLE after a quarter, then failed to withstand the winner. LITTLE MARCELLE, a strong factor throughout, tired in the final drive. RICCIARDO, away in a tangle, careened into IVAN W. shortly after the start, but closed with a rush. DOLLAR PRINCESS had no mishaps. GORGEOUS was hard ridden throughout. DONNA MINE failed to respond when hard urged in the stretch. IVAN W. was eliminated shortly after the start. TULANE LASS was always far back. ELKHART bled after working his way into the lead in the last eighth. LOETY HEIGHTS quit badly in the stretch. DUANIC caused a long delay at the post when his bridle broke as he unseated his rider and J. Cavens substituted for H. Roble.
