DOLLAR PRINCESS WINS McCoy Scores His Third Victory of Day in Feature. - Owner Schwartz Ruled Off Turf for Attack on Rider After Fourth Race Rain Falls. NEW ORLEANS, La., March 3. Dollar Princess, the three-year-old daughter of Snob II. and Yankee Princess, which races for A. Pelleteri, local owner, proved that she is a good racer when she decisively defeated five others of her sex in the Pan Zareta Purse at the local Fair Grounds today. Vanquishing My Sweets, Harlem, Tweeny, Plumage and Elizabeth Bolla, she contributed one of several surprises that marked the racing which was decided under wet weather and before- one of the smallest Crowds of the meeting. - Well suited by the dull but good footing Which prevailed, and running through a light rain, the Pelleteri filly made every post a winning one. At no stage did James Mc- Coy permit her to be fully extended, and running the distance in 1:13, she won by two and one-half lengths from My Sweets, .which occupied the runner-up position throughout. Gaining some ground in the stretch, Harlem got up for third, a neck back of My Sweets, and four lengths before Tweeny, ..while Plumage, which shared favoritism with Harlem, failed to race up to recent good efforts. PROTESTS VICTORY. McCoys victory in the feature marked -his second in successive races and third of the day. He took the second with Burgoo and fourth with Crowned Head. Following his victory with the latter, which was pro- "tested without success by J. Guerra, who rode Transformation, which finished second, he was the victim of an attack by M. Schwartz, owner of Transformation. For .the offense, Schwartz was ruled off the turf and turned over to police authorities. Rain fell throughout the afternoon, but Jthe fall was light and, after three races had been run on a fast track, the going became good and later held an advantage for racers partial to sloppy footing. - Wild Child and G. Elston made up the winning combination in the first race, which brought together twelve of the three-year-olds and older and the victory of the four- -year-old J. H. Houghland filly was easily attained. Bunting Lad saved second place and White Toes finished third.v The unplaced included Red Vest, slight favorite "over the winner. RED VEST TIRES. Elston had Wild Child in close attendance of Bunting Lad as he ran along in the early lead and, responding to only light urging after reaching the stretch, she gradually disposed of the early pacemaker, winning in hand and by two lengths. Some six lengths separated Bunting Lad and White Toes. "After reaching the stretch in a contending position, Red Vest tired and dropped back steadily. The second race of the afternoon brought together Burgoo and My Hobby, which were considered well matched from a betting standpoint, the pair going to the post almost ..equal favorites. The result was as anticipated, Burgoo winning, but only after a terrific stretch duel, which took the pair out five lengths in front of Downpour, the latter finishing an easy third. Burgoo, away fast and setting the pace, withstood several challenges from Irish, then briefly ; gave way to My Hobby in the stretch, only ! to come again and in a rattling finish, overtake the latter and win going away. The juvenile race, third on the card, proved easy for Harold Jr., a bay colt by Chilhowee Sarah Day, which showed good form on his recent appearance. Today he was right on edge, and quickly dashing to the front, outran his opponents all the way, never seriously threatened. Fair Image was second, easily outstaying the first-time starter, Miss Brilliant, which closed a big gap in a fashion to indicate that she may be heard from when more accustomed to racing ways. Following the close here, B. S. Michell twill ship a division of his stable to Bowie and send others to Kentucky. He will take up Yankee Doodle after reaching Maryland, where the horse ran out during the winter. He has Wise Seller, Radiation, Lonesome Glory, Banal Girl, Guide Left, Kay Frances and others here. J. L. Paul, laid up with a badly infected 1 foot, was out Thursday for the first time ! in more than a week.
