TANFORANS GOOD JUVENILES Trainers of Youngsters at San Bruno Confident of Outcome of Races With Invaders. SAN BRUNO, Calif., March 18. Danger looms for Linden Tree and other good two-year-olds coming to Tanforan from Agua Caliente for the opening of the spring meeting Thursday, March 31. Unlike some other seasons, the young thoroughbreds in this section are remarkably forward, and, as they appear to be of more than ordinary class, sparkling performances may be expected of them.- The opportunity afforded to the trainers of the youngsters by admitting horses to Tanforan for the first time in the off period of sport, helped materially in bringing them to racing form. The trainers started early in accustoming their youngsters to the track on which they will do their first racing, and for several weeks the breaking from the Bahr stall gates has put the finishing touches on their education. "Bring on your Linden Trees" is the unqualified challenge of A. K. Sloman of the Hartwell-Compton establishment, one of the large stables at Tanforan. Fans realize two-year-olds from "Charley" Hartwells Santa Rita Farm can run and win. They have done that very thing against the best in Florida in the winter just coming to a close. Discounting a bit the pardonable enthusiasm of a man having the rosy anticipations of the colts he has watched with the utmost j care from the day they were foaled and are I about to have their baptism under fire, it is easy enough to understand the popular string is a more formidable one than ever before.
