MIKE REYNOLDS, away forwardly and prominent in the early stages, came wide entering the stretch,-but responded gamely under pressure and drew away in the last fifty yards. SMOKE CLOUD went into contention with a rush in the opening quarter mile, saved ground and was running strongly entering the stretch, but was bothered by ALL PLAY ; he may have won but for the interference. ALL PLAY, quickest to find her stride, drew clear around the turn, faltered and swerved under punishment, but held ROMAC safe. The latter was carried very wide around the turn and finished with good courage in the stretch run. SWEET SIXTEEN saved much ground the entire way. COMMON, away well and displaying good speed in the going, was steadied in front in the early running, and held HIGHEST POINT safe in the final drive. HIGHEST POINT, strongly handled, bettered his position steadily around the turn and made a game effort, but could not overtake the winner. FOREIGN PLAY, nearest in pursuit of the leader all the way, weakened in the stretch run, but outlasted CAPTAIN ED. The latter was forced wide the entire trip, but finished stoutly under punishment. BROOKSIE rushed into the lead in the run out of the chute, was rated in front the first half mile, opened up a long lead with a rush on the stretch turn, then began to weaken and just lasted. COOTS, vigorously urged, gradually improved his position along the inner rail and would have won in another stride. MARABOU was pocketed until the final three-eighths, then moved up stoutly when clear and easily disposed of the others. BLACK STOCKINGS met with interference in the early running. GIBBYS CHOICE closed a big gap from a slow beginning. HARRY HIEOVER retired in the final quarter mile. MY DANDY, fractious at the post, broke in full stride from the outside of the stalls, followed the leader closely, forcing a rapid early pace and, continuing with determination, drew clear through the stretch and was doing his best at the finish. FRENCH LASS, going forwardly on the inside in the early running, was taken around the leaders entering the stretch, responded gamely in the final drive, but could not get up. SILVER CORD displayed high early speed, saved ground entering the stretch, but weakened badly in the last sixteenth, but outstayed ULUNIU. The latter was outrun to the stretch, but closed with a belated rush under punishment. JACK COLLINS was outrun. DOUBLE HEART, energetically ridden, lacked speed and was not persevered with in the stretch run. Scratched 69276Panetian, 128; 69382Click, 100. WAVE TOP hustled to the front around the fiist turn, was rated in front and held on tenaciously when challenged, but could not withstand the winners bid. BOUNDING DEEP dwelt when the break came, gradually bettered his position in the last half mile and was- going fastest of all in the final strides. NOSE GAY had no mishaps. STRETCHER raced JIMMIE L. into defeat the opening half-mile and drew clear leaving the back stretch, but weakened in the stretch run when the final issue came. COCK ROBIN, away slowly, closed a very big gap. CRYSTAL DOMINO tired in the final eighth. PEACH ROSE suffered repeated interference; her effort was better than the chart shows. The latter went wide around the first turn, but moved up rapidly when straightened out in the back stretch and took command, but raced wide on the stretch turn and lost ground, which cost him the race. WINNIE C improved her position rapidly after leaving the stretch and weakened through the stretch. BILL SOUTHAM had no excuses. SANCROFT and SUN TEATIME were never formidable contenders.
