M. Holmes; bred by Mrs. L. M. Holmes. Winner entered to be claimed for ,500. WENT TO POST 5:53. AT POST 4 minutes. Start bad out of machine. Won easily; second and third driving. NOELS FIRST, away well, dropped out of it in the run to the first turn, moved up slightly approaching the far turn, was taken under light restraint racing wide at the second turn and, racing into command with a rush, won easily. HERENDEEN, sharply impeded at the start and far back until reaching the final three-eighths, bettered his position fast thereafter and outfinshed MAKE BELIEVE. The latter started outside the stalls and was away in a tangle, but closed boldly. ORLOFF, a strong factor throughout, weakened in the final drive. TROLL quit after reaching the final quarter. SQUEEZE PLAY, away poorly, lost much ground. BOB KERNAN had early speed.
