j TWENTY GRAND ARRIVES j | AT FARM OF HIS OWNER j LEXINGTON, Ky., May 3— Twenty Grand arrived at the Greentree farm of his owner, Mrs. Payne Whitney, this morning for a years rest from training. Major Louie A. Beard, manager of the Whitney racing interests, who was among those to greet the great horse on his arrival, stated that Twenty Grand had not actually broken down, as indicated in newspaper stories, but had shown a slight swelling on the ankle of his left forefoot and was taken out of training to guard against a possible break down. The "puff appears to be a return of the injury which the colt suffered when he struck himself while training in Maryland last fall. Twenty Grand will be mated with a few mares this spring and will be allowed the remainder of this year to recover from the injury. If his recovery appears complete, he will be placed in training again next season, Major Beard said. Otherwise he will be retired to the stud. The four-year-old will be bred to four mares: Glade, Leopardess, Goose Egg and Overture. A jumper. Light Touch, accompanied Twenty Grand from Belmont Park to the farm.
